colorFabb varioShore TPU allows users to vary the density of the material by adjusting the temperature and material flow (velocity and layer height).
At temperatures between 200 and 250 °C, materials begin to expand to 1.4-1.6 times their original volume. This means the material can be printed at low flow rates (60-70%) to compensate for active foaming, which in turn results in very soft parts.
Between 190 and 200 °C the material can be printed without foaming, resulting in a different feel and harder prints compared to foamed samples.
The base TPU is a 92A material that works with most standard extruder settings for Bowden and direct drive systems. It is advised to use standard TPU settings as a baseline for developing your own presets. Make sure the distance between the nozzle and the platform is not too small, especially if the material will be foamed during the printing process.
