PEI film

The BuildTak polyetherimide (PEI) construction surfaces are manufactured in the USA to ensure consistent quality and composition.

They are made from premium Ultem 1000 PEI, which is equipped with the No-Cleanup BuildTak Original Adhesive.

As a comparable alternative to the BuildTak Original 3D printing surface, BuildTak PEI has slightly different adhesion and release properties that vary depending on the material being printed.

In general, BuildTak PEI provides easier removal of finished prints, while BuildTak Original provides a greater hold when printing.

Combined with our Complete BuildTak FlexPlate system, you can easily swap multiple FlexPlates between the BuildTak Original and BuildTak PEI print finishes, depending on the material being printed.

For example, PolyCarbonate needs the extra hold of BuildTak to finish the prints, while PEI is recommended for easier removal of the models for PETG.
